I hope you will read my blog about green business ideas and opportunities in Northern Nevada and North Lake Tahoe. I'm curious to why you have comments turned off on your other posts. I wanted to add comments about CSA which I have a post about, as well as greenwashing which I have several posts about.

Thanks for your comment and perspective, Carlos. Just so you know, there are virtually no profits from our publication. Every sponsor helps support the design, printing and distribution of the copies throughout our community - which is provided to the public for free.

As a sustainable publication (not a magazine), our goal is to do just what you're suggesting - inform people on the easy ways they can become more sustainable in their daily lives. Without advertising sponsors to provide the needed revenue to produce the publication, we'd need a donor or grant to accomplish that goal.

If you'd like to submit an article for our next publication this winter, please let us know and we'll discuss including you into our messaging.

Thanks for reading GReNO!

It's good to see a magazine that is trying to inform people about being green, but when I read it I saw that most of it is about "green commercialization". What I mean a most of the articles and and areas are about different companies that are advertising their green product. I know that you need these sponsors to pay for the publication of the magazine but I think you need more information for people to really start doing thing to help our environment. For instance I just move from another city where each house and apartment complex have a container(s) to put recyclables items, but since I moved to Sparks I have not found any and the people I talked to have no idea where one is, neither I seen any specific trash container in our apartment area. But I have to say that I have seen in front of some houses some small baskets to put the plastic and papers, but I know that each house can recycle more. I would like to see information like this is this kind of "green magazine". I know if we work together we can make our state cleaner, thank you for taking the time to read this comment.
